Defending Rights and Dissent has joined with 90 other organizations – all of us fighting to protect youth privacy, safety, and access to information – to voice our concern about the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA). While it sounds benign, even good, this well-meaning bill is actually harmful. That’s why an impressive and diverse group of LGBTQ+, human rights, civil liberties, and tech policy organizations from across the country is opposing the bill unless significant changes are made.
Senate leadership is considering attaching the bill to must-pass end-of-the-session legislation. Such a procedure will not allow for any debate, or amendments to KOSA.
Take Action: Please join with us in voicing your concern about the bill.
